This video shows a southwestern US moth caterpillar in
the beginning stages of “crocheting” its cocoon. How do
I know it’s a moth caterpillar? The “capsule” in which
butterfly caterpillars perform their metamorphosis
is called a chrysalis and is not encased by silk.
